rendering issues….
hi guys, I’m doing a 3d comp with text and particles, and i spent a bad night….
the render came out different from the preview, camera DOF and position messed up, and the text looked different from ram preview….
any idea on what can make the render different from preview ??? i’m kinda going crazy, reinstalled everything, delete the prefs file….

okay I went through all the forum, watched aaron tutorial on rendering, and i’ll try that tonight.
but there’s a big question here :
WHY WOULD THE RENDER BE DIFFERENT FROM RAM PREVIEW ???
I just don’t get what’s happening during the processing….

Are you previewing using a different 3D view than the active camera? Rendering for final output is done using the active camera.
There are some other ways in which what is rendered for previews may differ from what is rendered for final output. Check your render settings to see if you’ve got any settings set to something other than Current Settings by mistake.

okay so the secret preference menu solved the problem… no more weird stuffs !!!
but I’d still like to know why it behaves this way, just to understand !
And something else weird happens : when I read the h264 output in vlc, it’s all blueish, but then no problem when importing it into premiere or after effect…. I’m going crazy with not understanding here guys !

I meant that I render files in h264 format in AE. Didn’t know it was bad, but actually I most often render it lossless, then compress it in premiere.
and that’s annoying !!!! Why didn’t adobe people allow access to adobe media encoder (the one i use in premiere) from AE ???
