  main concept AVI render problem & workflow recommendations.

  Hi guys,

  have some 1080i Avi files (Main Concept 2.4.16). I brought them into Vegas to color correct and then re-export out. Want to maintain the best res I can for the client without doing any unnecessary excessive render time. Workflow and ideas are welcome.

  1- the files are 1080i (upper field) AVI 29.97 (Main concept DV 2.4.16).
  2- I set the Vegas project properties to the 1080 29.97 template
  3- Made my color corrections (I see the video field lines in the image although the project properties & files match at upper field. Should I still switch to pregressive?)

  4- When I try to render out, I get and error message if I try to change the AVI codec to Main concept (says codec isn’t compatable with render settings)

  So at this point, is there something you suggest I could do to change the render settings? Or is another comparable codec (sony YUV) that is as good or better than main concept that would work and wouldn’t take as much time or increase file the file size too much?
