Setting the default transition?

Hi,

I am pretty sure to have read somewhere this was possible, but cannot find how anymore.

I would like to tell Vegas Pro 10 that when I drag a video event over another one, the transition is done not with the standard blending, but with a specified transition among all available in the Transitions tab.

Do you know if this can be specified somewhere in Vegas?

I know that this can be changed by hand (and certainly by scripts as well) afterwards but I would prefer to have something specified once for ever.

This comes from a user on the Sony Vegas forum.
I don’t need to tell you but other users should be aware that blindly changing values in the Internal Prefs can have serious consequences.

These transitions can be changed in Internal preferences (Hold down the Shift key while clicking Tools-Preferences) Go to Internal tab and type “Standard Transition” in the search box (without quotes). Use the following GUIDs:

I think this internal prefs panel is probably the place where I have seen that this was doable. Definitely I wouldn’t have found it again without you !!

Frederic, the English word for turning red is “blushing”.
As I said, you deserve credit for the plugins you’ve developed as they are highly regarded by a lot of users.

Guys hi and thank you so much for this tip, but in sony vegas pro 13 i can’t get it to work. I go to options – preferences while holding down shift key, i do see the internal tab, when i search for standard transitions, three choices pop up (standard transitions 1 2 and 3 which do have different values), and i enter what i want in either one of them (numero 1) or in all three of them, save, restart vegas, nothing happens, when i push one video object into the other, i only still get crossfade. Any ideaS? thanks a lot
