    Hello all,

I’ve read as many threads on this Vegas memory thing as I can stand to read and pretty much gave up on trying to fix that. I’ve tried work-arounds to lighten the load and it seems to get worse.

Here’s what I did. I rendered each clip of a music video independently then created a new session of the rendered down clips with effects already painted in. All I have to do is add movie clips in order with absolutely no plug-ins whatsoever going on. It crashes faster than it did when I had everything separated on the original session.

What is going on? Windows Movie Maker has no problem getting everything loaded. Of course that’s no help rendering, but it has no problems getting everything lined up and playing it back.

What do I do? I’m out of ideas. Help!

If that is the situation…something, codec or plugin
you have installed on your system is causing vegas to be behaving
that way…..or with the clip you are trying to render.
What is the format/info of the clips you are trying to render?

Hey Steve, thanks for the reply. The clips are 1280×720 WMV that were converted from 1920×1080 MTS files. My project properties are the same with Field Order “Progressive Scan” and Gaussian for Motion Blur. Those two things I’m not sure about.

I have about 50 movies in the project media being used for a music video so there are lots of clips on the timeline. And I’m using lots of plug-ins, Super 8 filter on everything, color corrections, soft contrast the most. I also have time stretching up and down on a few clips.

What I did last was kill all plugins on all unused tracks to “bounce” each scene to a new WMV files painted with the effects like I would do with sound files of a music project. I thought that bringing those straight video files with no filters and stretching on the regions would make it go fast. It also reduced the total footage time loaded in the project exponentially because there’s no unused footage sitting there in files. I’m confused… but I’m not a video pro like you guys are so I’m hoping for some wisdom.

I’m using the WMV plugin inside of Vegas to render, though it’s hard to render with any codec. I also have ffdshow installed.

If there’s anything else you need to know please ask.
