When going super slomo, a quick way to remove redundant frames?
Sometimes I get lower quality video clips to use in production. Sometimes the film was shot with low FPS, so when I slow it down there are redundant frames. The video looks like it’s continuously pausing while it plays (repeat of multiple frames that are exactly the same). Is there a way to clean up these types of videos so that slomo looks more natural. I understand that the frames in between simply don’t exist, but maybe there’s a way to remove the repeat frames and add a blur effect? Thanks

Turn on Resample option (Right click on event > Switches > Smart Resample

There’s only so much you can do with slow-mo footage that started out at a low frame rate. The “smart resample” in Vegas will basically crossfade between adjacent frames in an attempt to smooth out the motion. Of course, there is no actual motion between the frames.
There are products such as Twixtor that synthesize new frames from the existing frames, based on smart motion tracking etc. These can create fairly smooth motion from an otherwise jerky slow-mo sequence.
