This has just started happening where I will create a piece of footage, which consists of a moving background a logo that enters in from the top of frame and stops mid frame. then I wanted to use a lens flare effect and when I place it in the frame it appears behind the logo. meaning I can see the FX through the letters of the logo. The logo media property’s in the alpha channel are straight (unmatted). The time line is set to source alpha. I have tried to figure out a way to bring the FX forward, even to placing it on the time line above and messing with the different options. I’m really stumped and could use some help on this. If I have not explained it well, sorry.

[Edward Uhrlaub] ” then I wanted to use a lens flare effect and when I place it in the frame it appears behind the logo.”

What do you mean by “place it in the frame“? What track are you adding it to? It sounds like you might be adding it to the background track when you need to be adding it to the logo track.
