I’m building a new computer but stuck on what DVD burner (not replicator) to order. Need a good component to go with an Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor and a ASUS P8P67 DELUXE (REV 3.0) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard.

    Currently using Vegas 10e

Not into Blue Ray very much yet but need a really good burner going forward.

Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Blue-Ray burners are getting reasonable in price, so you may as well get ahead of the curve and be ready to burn blue.

I did about 6-months ago and today I received my fist client request for Blue Ray. Woohoo.

    Thanks,

So, what brand/model did you chose?

    LG.
I don’t recall the model, but it was the cheapest.

To be honest, I haven’t burned any Blu with it yet.

I use LG as well. Just make sure you get one that burns BD-R and BD-RE. It also burns DVD+R and DVD-RE and DVD-DL, plus your standard CD-R.

It did have some BD-RE disc recognition issues, but I sorted that by reformatting the disc in my burner.

My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 10e (x32/x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6
