    Hey,

I use a canon 550D to record HD footage.

however, a project for school requires that it is burnt to a DVD 🙁

    so here are my settings:

    Project Properties: 720×576 (PAL)
    Field Order – Lower Field
    Framre Rate – 23.976
    Deinterlace MEthod – Interpolate

    Render Output:
MPEG 2 – DVD PAL WIDESCREEN (the DVDA one)
    Frame Rate – 23.976
    Field order – lower field
    Constant bit rate: 9,500,000

    Am i doing everything right?

Also, ive seen people suggest that u render audio separately to AC-3 or something? Im struggling to find the option for that :/

    Thanks people

    Under “Render As”, select AC3.

9,500,000 is far too high a bit rate.
If the video is under 70 min. long, I use a CBR of 8,000,000
Anything longer and I use a bitrate calculator to determine optimum settings.
