I just got a Canon 60D and Vegas 9 chokes with the H.264 files. I have MPEG Streamclip. Which are the best settings to convert the H.264 files to edit in Vegas and not lose too much quality.I was told that Prism is another good program fro converting. I converted to AVI, but it looks like there is some lost of quality. Also, what is a good rendering HD setting?

Many people use Cineform. Have you tried editing it with an i7? I can edit 1080 60p .mts files with an i7 easily. I built an i7 for about a grand, and just bought a Sony Vaio i7 laptop for $940 that edits AVCHD fantastic.
