Can’t Burn HD Video with Standard Def Audio
Hello,
I have an AVCCAM video that I have edited in Sony Vegas 10. I have royalty free music at the beginning and end. When I rendered the video as an HD .wmv file, the audio didn’t work. It would make a brief noise and then silence. So I customized the render settings to save as an HD video but keep the audio 64 kbps. The video came out beautiful and the audio also. But now, I want to burn the video to a DVD. I burned the video and audio tracks straight out of the Vegas project onto a DVD and audio messed up again. So, should I take the fully rendered file with lower quality audio, and burn that to a disc through Sony Vegas? Or is there a way to lower the audio quality when setting up to burn a disc?

Sounds like some WMV weirdness. Did you try rendering the whole project to AVC/MP4 or MPEG-2/HDV or MXF?
There is no requirement to crapify your audio. I did WMV/HD discs for as couple of years, and never had an issue with playback on a PC. Now, if you’re rendering to DVD-Video (not just DVD ROM), you’re naturally going to need to render to a supported format (AC-3, PCM, MPEG Layer 2). If you have a DVD player that claims to play WMV, good luck — just find a set of settings that work and don’t change, because most of these are only going to support a narrow range of possible settings.

Well I will try MPEG2. I hate to waste so much time and so many discs. I was just wondering if anybody knew about this sorta problem. The other thing is that I AM saving it as an MPEG2 when I burn to a DVD.
