    Hi there!

So I’m one of these Canon DSLR shooters that have the AGC (Automatic Gain Control) problem and don’t want to get Magic Lantern. I use a high frequency sound from an mp3 player in the left channel and mono mic audio in the right channel into the external mic socket of my 550D, which keeps the gain virtually constant.

Is it possible, when previewing shots from Vegas’ Explorer tab, to set the play back in such a way that only the right channel is heard and the left is ignored?

It’s difficult to preview with the pierce of the 19kHz burning my ears.
Of course, if I was over 40, this probably wouldn’t be a problem. But unfortunately I am young.

I can live with it, though it would just be nice to be able to concentrate a bit more.
I’d appreciate any ideas or suggestions or anything.

    Thank you!

Preview plays the file as is. There is no way to turn an audio channel off.

Ah well. I found that by fiddling with the knobs on my speakers I can pretty much silence all the sounds up there.

    Thanks anyway!

You just have to pan your speaker output (either in software/Windows mixer or on speaker/amp controls) hard right so you don’t get any left channel tone output. Then remember to put the balance back to centre when editing/mixing…
