Render Progress is Stalling

I am trying to render an 8-9 minute video in an HD format. It will not change in frames or percent completed. I have no idea why.

Here’s what I mean:

Here’s what I have tried:

-Rendering in several different formats; same results
-Restarting computer; same results
-Rendering at a different place in the video; didn’t work
-Getting rid of the first file and rendering an entirely new one; nope
-Outputting to a different folder; no difference
-Deleting 5GB worth of old videos; of course not
-Waiting; 3.5 hours long enough?
-Punching my monitor’s screen multiple times and screaming at the CPU; same results

I have worked long and hard on this project and refuse to just not let it render. If anybody can help me, I will be so grateful.

More details are always a huge help.
For example, CPU, OS, amount of RAM, number and size of hard drives,
type of footage on the timeline, type of FX on this footage.

BTW, why are you rendering to WMV?
It’s a format that almost always bogs down a system for rendering.

I render to WMV all the time. I see a .m4a file on your timeline. I would remove one of the format files at a time until it will render.
It seems Vegas has a problem with one or more of your files your editing.

Patience, grasshopper. We are all volunteer contributors to this forum. Before we can assist, we need more information:

Your PC specs (as suggested by Mike)

Knowing what version of Vegas you are using is always helpful.

Have you installed any CODEC packs?

What format is your source media in?

What are your project template properties?

Are you using 3rd party graphics plugins, if so, which ones?

Set the audio level of audio track #3 to 0 db and mute it.
(Do not use -Inf for audio tracks in Vegas 9.0)

Thank you all for your help. The problem was the audio level at negative infinity. It’s working now.
