I have just finished two projects with complex edits that I want to nest into a single project to add overlays and burn to DVD. I did not change any audio settings in the properties tab, but I did add a few audio effects and separate the stereo audio into two Mono channels. they work fine in the project but when I preview them in the explorer tab they show no audio. I tried deleting the .sfap0 files and rebuilding the audio proxy but I am getting a flat line and no audio. Any suggetions?

Rename your audio files wherever they are on your pc,or just the
folder they are in. Then open up your project in Vegas and when
prompted that audio files are missing, just relink them and see.

    Hi Steve,
The audio files are connected to the video files. Should I rename both, or is there another way to do that?

You can rename the vidoe files then and relink them accordingly
when prompted by Vegas. But restart your computer first for a
    fresh slate.

There are nesting bugs with audio in VP10. I posted a bug to Sony with specifics to what I did. They could not reproduce it and closed the case. You can read my thread on this forum here: https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/24/920497#920873

Another reason why i cant have Vegas 10 in my everyday
    workflow Jim….Strange mmm….Vegas 9.0e is my rock.
Vegas will soon pull free of these nags still.

I went back to your original thread and tried your instructions, and I can’t duplicate the problem. Neither could a few other people who took the time to try. Yet you persist that there’s a bug in Vegas that Vegas technical support can’t duplicate either?

I guess you are saying that it’s my machine, and not Vegas? Perhaps. But I never experienced this issue with about 2-3 years of using Vegas 8. Then the first time I try to nest with VP10 I get this issue. And before 10.0d Vegas would consistently hang and crash every day even when not nesting. Hey, I love Vegas and I’m sticking with it. But to me, and apparently others, there are still some major bugs that need to be addressed.

People use the term “bug” much to loosely. If no one can reproduce the problem, then it’s highly unlikely that there’s a bug that only affects your installation.

I spent a few years in PC Tech Support and I can assure you that if the support engineers cannot duplicate your problem, then they certainly can’t fix it.

I’m having a similiar issue in Vegas Pro 11 32-bit.

I have an HD project with my final renders laid out in sequence. Beneath that, I nested my Sound Mix file. The project then renders the sfap0 file, finishes, but strangely the Mix (and its peaks) go silent at 6:30. Checked my Sound Mix project and all is fine there, no strange track/event muting. I even rendered out a .WAV file and imported that into the HD project, which worked…

…but I like nesting my Sound Mix project into the final HD project, because it ensures any last minute fixes update automatically.

    — But it’s not working. Damn. So many issues with Nested Projects either hanging, or taking far too long to build sfap0, or crashing upon building peaks.

    Btw, I’m in Win10…

…but have to stay in 32-bit Vegas Pro. This is an older project that used 32-bit plugins that haven’t been updated to 64-bit.
