Students of mine filmed a music video and imported all footage (DV NTSC) into FCP. They also imported a music file (.aiff).

When we imported the footage to AE (both as a reference and as a self-contained file), the video and audio are playing at around half speed.

    Video sound settings: 48k
    Music file sound setting: 44.1k
    FCP Sequence sound setting: 48k
After Effects project settings for sound: 48k

Quicktime will play the exported footage fine. After Effects is seeing everything in slow motion. What did we do wrong?

    Hi Dave,

We don’t have Quicktime Pro. Is there a way to do this from FCP, or maybe Soundtrack Pro?

I’ll have to ask our Tech guy because it isn’t on my machine. Our computers get “imaged” with a setup that he designs so we don’t actually install this stuff ourselves. Looks like he didn’t include QT Pro on this image.

    Thanks for the help guys!

You should have it if you have FCP, QT Pro is part of the standard FCP install.

Wow, Dave – you’re right again! I think I should be paying you consulting fees at this point.

    Gracias!
