I’m trying to make a video which will be a short documentaryand it will have several pictures as well as images of news articles online. Is there a way to make it look better because some of the pictures are tall and narrow and some are short and wide and it looks unproffessional.

Sorry I have now fixed this issue. As simple as it was (Just cropping it into aspect ratio), I am new to this so please bear with me.

Are there any other ways to bring pictures to life as I just don’t want to have still image upon still image. Would you recommend using the event pan/crop to zoom in on the picture or move across the picture?

One thing I would like to know is after I have set up text in media generator how do I get it so it is being typed out letter by letter?

Pannig across or zoomin on a still image is a common technique knows as the Ken Burns Effect. It’s effective for adding a bit of life to still image sequences (slide shows), but watch out for sizzling horizontal lines and edges if your output video is interlaced (eg DVD).

As for text media “typing” effect, you can do this with the built-in text media generator using keyframes. Start with just the first letter of your title/caption, then add a keyframe and add the 2nd letter to the text, then another keyframe and the third letter… until you have the complete caption. It’s a bit laborious, so you may want to look at other titling plugins if you want to do this a lot.
