Hi all… I have Sony Vegas Pro 90, and I’m not very experienced running it. However, I am tackling the task of creating the team highlight dvd of my son’s Pop Warner football team. The raw video was shot with a Samsung camcorder (not sure of the model, will post later today), which produces .mp4 files. At this point, I’ve already gone thru the entire season, edited the video, and set it to music… 1 hour 15 minutes worth of dvd playtime! The video looks fine (smooth) in the preview window. I don’t have the exact info with me right now (at work… info is on my laptop at home), but going off memory, some of the settings I’ve tried are upper field first, lower field first, and interpolate fields for interlacing. I’ve rendered as both MPEG-2 and .avi. I am making the dvd with DVD Architect. For the most part, the dvd playback on TV (which is what most kids will watch the dvd on) is ok when there is little motion, but during high motion (which is alot of the video being a football highlight reel), the picture seems jittery/jumpy/shaky, and is kinda hard on the eyes. I know that I’m probably leaving out alot of very pertinent information to get the problem pinned down, but I just don’t have it on me right now. Can anyone take a shot in the dark as to what the problem might be?

What is your source frame rate(s), and output frame rate?
It could be that you’ve shot in, say, 25p and rendered in 30p.

The source and output frame rates are the same- 29.97.
I think it might have something to do with the interlacing setting maybe? When watching it play on dvd, the motion almost looks like it jumps forward a fraction of a second, and then back a fraction of a second… making it seem blurry or shaky. Is it best to go with no interlacing?

Maybe someone can post simple step by step instructions on creating a dvd from video pulled off a digital camcorder?
The playback from my camcorder to tv is fine… I just can’t figure out how to get is onto dvd looking the same way.
