I am practising with BCC 7 – the chroma-key and it really is superb. One of the effects – the Light Wrap would benefit from me being able to zoom right in on a section of the preview. I understand how to use the zoom facility in the pan/crop window – but this is not what I want to do. When applying the light-wrap effect it would be very useful to be able to zoom right in on the preview window to allow me examine a very small section of the footage (the matte outline) so I can see the effect being applied to a small part of the image.

Is it possible to zoom in on the image being displayed in the preview window without affecting the zoom settings for the rendering/output?

    Thanks,

No. Unfortunately, Vegas Pro has no way to zoom in on the preview window and there are lots of times that I wish you could. 🙁

This is one of the reasons Boris RED is sometimes a better tool for the job. RED pops up it’s own interface that lets you directly manipulate the video and 3D objects and allows you to zoom in on the preview.

Not possible to directly zoom in, but what you can do is
drag the window to a larger view and then right click on
it and uncheck “scale video to fit preview window

Thanks folks – that’s what I had thought, but I was hoping I had missed one of those nice little hidden keyboard shortcuts….

@steve – that is what I had been doing, so I’ll stick with that

What I do guys… click on event pan/crop feature and zoom on the clip there to check the video quality.
