Vegas MS 8 or 9?
I have an old computer, but it runs well. It has a P4 2.0ghz and 756mb of rdram (i can upgrade to 1gb total fairly cheaply). On Amazon someone claims to run Movie Studio 9 Platinum with a P4 2.0ghz and 1gb ram without crashes, albeit he turns of his antivirus and internet connection to have all computing power available. Does Movie Studio 9 Platinum require more computing power than 8? The minimum requirements are the same (1ghz processor/256mb ram), but reading reviews it seems like more have had crashing problems with 9 than 8. There seems to be alot more tutorial videos for 9 on youtube and generally more support, this will be my first video editing project. The project is simple. Author a DVD of old footage (20 yrs ago) taken on VHS, then title it, maybe some audio and color correction, menu, and credits. The ability to replicate copies is important as well. I’ll be purchasing a DVD burner with lightscribe if that would affect the decision ( i don’t know if lightscribe is done via the editing software or software that comes with the drive).

Worry not, Vegas Movie Studio 9 will run on that system and will
get all your editing tasks that you have planned, completed.
But you know an upgrade is necessary if you want to take things
a notch higher and do some serious editing.Steve Rhoden
