16:9 AE graphics distortion
Hi there
The company I work for has recently started shooting in true 16:9, then editing in Final Cut. I make title sequences etc in AE6 and then deliver them on DV. As I always used to work in 4:3 i’n not too familiar with the workings of 16:9.
I’m working with comp size 1024/768 and pixel ratio ‘D1/DV PAL Widescreen (1.42)’.
I’m making a sequence with a moving arrow which I created in PS ( at 1024/768 res) then imported into AE6. When it is imported its sides appear squashed. If I squash the top down to make it square, strange things happen when the arrow is rotated; it seems to get re-squashed and looks very weird. This is solved by setting the comp aspect ratio to square pixels but I want to avoid doing that if i can as it will probably cause the editor problems when i deliver the effects sequences. Does anybody know what preset I should be working in or how to get PS to be more 16:9 friendly?
Thanks for any help!
