  • Too many small clips captured in Vegas Pro – need just one clip

    Hey everyone,

I have recently upgraded to Vegas Pro 10 and I am capturing footage HV40 mt2 from Canon HV40 via Sony Vegas Pro 10

I am having a problem with the exported files. They are mt2. However, there are hundreds of smaller clips for a 10 minute clip, some are only 2-3 seconds long!

What is the trick to having all these mt2 clips captured as one file/clip??

Your help would is greatly appreciated, thanks!

    Try HDVSplit instead (it’s free).

Thanks for link. The the thing is I never had this issue before with any of the previous versions of Vegas Pro. I thought there was an option I need to tick/untick to have footage as one clip/file?

Under Prefs, disable the “Enable HDV scene detection” option and see if that helps.

As per Mike’s suggestion, that will mean having to do a re-capture, but it may be worth the upfront effort and spare you some grief. We assume that your source is a tape.

Thanks guys, MIke’s suggestion did help. Still not not captuiring as one file but as 2 files (instead of 700+) 1st file is 1.5 gig and the other is the bigger one. Not a problem as I can combine both.

    Thanks for your help.
