Magic Bullet plugins do not work for Sony Vegas Pro 10. They only work for the 32bit builds, which means those of us running Vegas on Windows 7 are out of luck. Which is why many of us are switching to Adobe AE for the more serious post-production projects.

The Red Giant Software team doesn’t take Sony Vegas
    seriously Drake.

Right. Which is a serious problem if you want to use Looks as a plugin. I am editing a 3 different project (promotional film, concert, press conference) all in Vegas. I do NOT want to learn CS5 but when clients are asking for specific looks which I can only attain through Red Giant plugins… I have to go that route at some point. Or Vegas needs to reach out and step it up.

Drake, install the 32 bit version of Vegas on your Win 7 machine, do your Looks there, save it and then bring it into your 64 bit version.
If you nest it, there’s no need for an intermediate codec.

You just blew my mind. I have no idea why I didn’t think to do that… Will have to give it a go this week…

Help me out here… I bought the entire suite (10) which includes Looks, Mojo, so forth. I can download any version I want. Looks, however, is not available for Vegas, even 32bit. What version are you speaking of for Looks?

hi mate i disagree with you there on the magic bullet plugins not working on 32 bit sony vegas pro ..i have 2 setups running a 64 bit partition for my heavy duty work which includes digidesign 003 aftyer effects and sony vegas pro 64 bit which runs a lot of plugins including magic bullett suite …i have a general muck about 32 bit partition which can die and get viruses etc and i dont have to worry , but i have sone vegas pro 32 bit on there for chopping up clips etc ..and im running magic bullet suite o nthere as well ..and now boris fx red and continuum ..with out a drama ..

@Geoff – The thread you are replying to is about a year old so forgive me if I’m missing you here… You say that you are running the Magic Bullet Suite on a 32bit build of Vegas.. Which version of the suite are you running?

Looks is the only program out of the suite that has currently been ported to a 64bit Vegas work environment. Looks and Mojo are the only two that previously worked in 32bit environment.

So are you running an old version of the Looks & Mojo on the 32bit build?

Personally I am simply making the gradual change to CS5/6. When I need something that can only be delivered via After Effects and a few Magic Bullet plugins, I use it. Otherwise, I still love Vegas 11 with a handful of plugins.
