Hi, Im hoping someone can help. I have spent the best part of 4 days testing codecs looking for a OK quality and a small file, im looking for about 100mb for 10 mins of video. I have done it and the quality was fine but i got pixelated squares and jurking every nown and again.

MP4 was fine but i have movie studio version and cannot change it to widescreen 🙁

I know i cannot have the best of both worlds but my upload speed is 0.88mbps and takes hours. Also my laptop heats up for some reason, it copes so i suppose its designed for that.

    My specs are here.

[George McCreadie] “MP4 was fine but i have movie studio version and cannot change it to widescreen :(“

I’m not sure what you mean by this. I have Movie Studio HD 10 and I can make any changes I want to both the MainConceopt AVC and Sony AVC templates.

I would use MainConcept AVC and start with the Apple iPod 640×480 Video template and use Two Pass and lower the average bit rate to between 1,200,000 and 1,300,000 bps and you should hit your 100mb per 10 minutes.

Like John, I use Movie Studio HD 10 and can edit the render presets as I wish.

However, I remember trying the demo of Movie Studio 9 (the basic version, not platinum) and I don’t think you could change the presets on that – there was some kind of restriction like that anyway. I think the Platinum version allowed you to edit the presets.

[Matt Crowley] ” I think the Platinum version allowed you to edit the presets.”

Oh, good point. I was using Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10 so perhaps that’s why I could edit the templates.

    Hi George,

If you interested which helped me a lot, you can purchase “Video for the Web” “What You NEED to Know” by Douglas Spotted Eagle at VASST. DSE gives great information about posting on Youtube, MySpace, etc.

Yea, it looks like you just found a great reason to update to Movie Studio HD Platinum 10. 😉

[George McCreadie] ” also is there any way of getting the 3D layer on movie studio?”

Movie Studio doesn’t support 3D Track Motion if that’s what you are referring to.
