  • My youtube uploads start with gray frames for a few seconds

Several seconds of gray before my video starts when I post it to youtube. It looks fine in Vegas. Using Vegas 10 pro and rendering in sony avc mpg4. This never happened before so I know youtube is doing something. I’ve heard about B frames. How do I get around this?
    THANKS

I have used an internet template. I’ve read it has to do with the reference frames (B frames) or (i frames)

It didn’t happen two weeks ago but it started happening a few days ago. I didn’t change any settings.
    ?????????????????

I have read that youtube is doing something to help with the sync issues by using a start video frame. Somehow this has suddenly become an issue.

Hmmm, DV avi is all I frames and HDV has two per every 30 frames so the most delay of start should be a half second, uploading HDV.
I don’t know of any format that has one I frame for a few seconds. I think your right with the YouTube experimenting with their encoding.
YouTube re-encodes everything you upload so I think the best quality you can upload that still fits within the upload limits, (file size and time length) is the way to go.
Still I see some 720 and 1080p youtube videos that load much faster than ones I have uploaded. Anyone know how to get either to load faster?
