Color correction In Vegas
I am making a Nature DVD which is a Bird Identification guide.My Canon Camera records yellows with a green ‘cast’.I have tried correcting in Vegas studio 9 using colour balance,corrector and curves.However ,these methods seem to affect the whole scene.Is it possible to select specific items ie the Bird to change the feather colors?? I am hoping to get a more accurate colour just on the bird.Many thanks,Tim.
Hi ,I am a new user of Architect 4.5.I am experiencing an ongoing problem in regard to getting a 16:9 burnt DVD displaying correctly on my new widescreen Tv.Ie it shows as letterbox display.I have recorded in 16:9,set the Vegus settings to Pal widescreen,Rendered in Pal Widescreen(I believe sucessfully).I can playback throught the computer ,say through Media player in Widescreen.I have also set my Architect settings to Pal Widescreen.However,the Tv will only play it with letterbox viewing.I would really appreciated any help as I’ve puzzled over this one for days!!Thanks,Tim.

You can duplicate the track and mask on the upper track the bird out (depending on the footage, it will be more or less easy and you could do that in Vegas pro with the secondary color corrector tool or in After Effects with the roto brush tool) and apply the color corection on the upper track.

Can you just upload the scene with the yellow bird (using e.g. dropbox), maybe we can help you.

Does Movie Studio 9 have the Sony Color Corrector (Secondary) plug-in? If it does, you can select only the bad yellow with this plug-in and change it’s color.
I’d say the real solution is to sell the defective camera. 😉

Before you \”sell-on\” an issue to somebody else, make sure you haven\’t inadvertedly set the manual White Balance to something odd.
Canon has really excellent WB templates for tungsten or daylight or overcast and so on, and are acclaimed for their WB algorithms throughout the industry. Just confirm just what your Canon is actually doing for you first. No point getting rid of a tool when all that was needed was to reset something?

Thankyou.I have indeed played with the WB settings to no avail.The problems with the Canon ( XM2 ) are well documented on the net and as far as I’m aware,software is the only possible solution.Tim

Studio 9 does have colour corrector.Not sure wether it’s ‘secondary’.I am also a little unsure of how this works.

If Studio 9 doesn’t have the secondary color corrector then you can’t use this technique. (sorry)
BTW, it looks like you have a question stuck as the signature to all of your posts. You might want to go into your profile and remove it as it’s quite confusing to see.
