System Req.
I’m just wondering if the outcome of my project be affected by the kind of computer I have? Basically, I don’t have a super-charged CPU with a great Video Card etc. It does meet the minimum req though for Sony Vegas 10. My question is will it only affect the editing part or the final outcome as well? BTW I’ve been working with Sony Vegas since it was called Video Explosion…The reason I’m asking is because I’m going from desktop to laptop.

If you are referring to render output quality, the answer is no. You computer specs have nothing to do with the quality of the output. They only affect your editing and render performance.

computer..You have nothing to worry about there.

Cool thanks for the replies. I’m going to do most of my work on my desktop but I want to use the laptop to render and/or burn to save time while at work. And Steve about Video Explosion…this was what Sony Vegas was before Sony acquired it from Sonic Foundry. YEARS ago!

Actually, Video Explosion was a re-branding of Sonic Foundry Video Factory which became Movie Studio. There were several companies that licensed Video Factory from Sonic Foundry and changed the branding. Video Explosion was one of them and Sony Screenblast was another. That’s how Sony got involved. Screenblast actually included the Chroma Keyer plug-in from Vegas Video which made original Video Factory customers mad because they didn’t have that functionality.
So Video Explosion was never Vegas. It was Video Factory which is the predecessor to Movie Studio today. Vegas Video was always the pro product (there was also a Vegas Audio product) even before Sony was involved.

Oh ok WOW had no idea. I bought Video Explosion just to play around and add titles to my dad’s VHS Wedding Video business videos. Then one day saw Sony Vegas software and it looked just like Video Explosion just newer so I bought that and from there on just figured Sony had bought Video Explosion from Sonic Foundry and rebranded it as Sony Vegas LOL. I have bought every Sony Vegas update since and actually edit the entire videos for my Dad! I love SV!
