Can anyone help me recreate a simple visual I’ve seen multiple times?

I want a photo to float into the frame, hover in place for a moment, then float off. While it is hovering, I want it to shift, ripple, or drift as if a slight breeze is blowing.

I’ve tried wriggle and drift over time, but nothing seems to look right. I have used Premiere and other adobe products for years, but am just starting to get into after effects.

    Help??

    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

By the time you spend looking for an answer you could have just done it the old fashion way… keyframe it!!!

Been there, done that. Keyframe animation just doesn’t look as natural. That’s why I’m looking for a specific technique.

So far, I’ve found a few expressions that do similar actions (falling down the screen, spinning like a leaf, etc.) So hopefully I can either locate a solution that looks correct, or someone can suggest a formula that works.
