  • How to stop Vegas from resizing imported images to full screen?

Posted by Adam Spencer on February 26, 2011 at 12:54 pm

This is really frustrating. I have some images and an AVI file that I have specifically made a small size for a video I’m making (I have some icons and countdown meter). I’m having trouble because I can’t figure out how to make Vegas Pro import the media in its original size. Instead, it makes it full screen on my project.

If I go into the Event Pan/Crop settings, there doesn’t seem to be an option to reset the image to its original size. Instead I have to try and guess by resizing the frame.

Not only that, but sometimes the Pan/Crop frame won’t go small enough. The image still isn’t as small as its original size, and I can’t make it any smaller within Event Pan/Crop.

Can anyone help me out on this one?

There is no way to stop this, it’s just the default behavior of Vegas, but there is no need for guessing. Just go into Pan/Crop and manually set the Width and Height to match your project properties and the image will be at it’s original size. You may have to disable “Lock Aspect Ratio” to get the width and height exact.
