    UGH!
Yeah so I’m just a teen who likes to edit videos and wants to get better with videography and editing in general and stuff, you know. Last year for my birthday I got Sony Vegas 9 Platinum Ed and I love it. I had an old Sony handycam that broke and last August I bought a Canon Vixia HFS100. I did some research, and this seemed like a great camera for my situation, for my life, for my interests. I wanted to upgrade to HD, and didn’t take into consideration the AVCHD format, obviously because I was just a dumb 16-year-old who thought he could buy something sweet and have everything work out perfectly. Well yeah so I couldn’t use it for the longest time because I football and school both started in August, right when I got the camera, and I had NO time to do ANYTHING. Since then I’ve edited a few videos for some school projects but nothing for fun. I got around the compatibility problem with the AVCHD format, but was pretty ticked off when the video was all jittery and laggy. That makes for risky editing. And I had recorded in the lowest format possible.
So I guess all I am asking is for some help and advice as to what I should do to make my experience better. I really don’t want to have to edit with this playback problem, and I don’t really want to buy anything new. But I will if I have to.
    Here are some specs:

    Vista Home Premium
    Dell Studio 1735
    Intel R Core 2 Duo CPU T8100 2.10GHz
    3GB RAM
    32-bit
    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650

Do I need to get a Sony camera? I can sell my Canon. Do I need to upgrade? I don’t know. I just want to be able to edit well again. Please provide some advice. Thanks for the time.
