Rendering.
I have a video project due Monday the 7th and I’m filming all we need on Sunday. My problem is when ever I render my video’s my computer shuts down. My computer has a huge over-heating problem where it raises from 20 degrees Celsius to 90 degrees in about 10 minutes, and this period gets smaller depending on the intensity of work my desktop is going through. I want to ask, if at all possible, if I can upload a zip file, with the Sony Vegas file, and the raw files that I’m using, and then someone getting it onto their computer, replacing the video files with the ones provided in the zip and doing the rendering job for me. This will help TREMENDOUSLY. I’m not yet sure if it’s possible, but if it is feel free to add me and we’ll keep contact and the video will be given in to you around Thursday (3rd) or Wednesday (2nd)and is due the 7th.

If you are going to the trouble of zipping the files (which may not work as your system will probably shutdown due to heat as the processor compresses the files), you may as well copy your entire project folder ‘as is’ to an external USB drive (including all veg files, ‘raw’ files and any graphics/mp3’s used in the project).
If you have another PC with Vegas, you should then be able to open your veg project, and after initially telling it where to look for the files (since they have moved), you should be able to start working where you left off, including render.
It might help if you fill in your profile with respect to your PC setup and Vegas version.

Here are two things to try that solved my overheating problems in the past.
#1 is to take the sides off and really blow out the dust bunnies that are in there.
This should be done at least once every 6 months as routine maintenance anyway.
If this doesn’t help, the paste on your CPU’s heatsink may have broken down.
If you’re comfortable doing it yourself, apply a new coating of a good brand of paste.
If not, this is a quick and inexpensive job for a competent tech to do. -

Maybe someone on this forum, if not I’d just try a different forum or someone I know who has Vegas.
Can you help me? I you can add me and I’ll contact you when needed.

You might want to try Mike’s suggestions or access/use a 2nd computer with Vegas and render on that.

I was thinking more along the lines of uploading it to a file sharing website, none of my mates have Vegas :/
