Can someone help me with this issue? I have both Vegas and Adobe AE as tools to deal with this problem.

I have some chroma key footage shot in SD, that I want to intersperse with some widescreen stock footage.

What is the best way to get rid of the black bars? Should it be done with the greenscreen SD footage or with the widescreen footage – and how is it to be done?

any help would be very appreciated,

    Scott

If the SD footage is chroma keyed, then there shouldn’t be any black bars. There should only be your foreground video with everything else being transparent. When you place this over a widescreen shot you should still only see your foreground footage and what would have been black bars will be transparent because of the chroma keyer. I do this all the time with stock footage that is 4:3 with a green screen.
