I have sony vegas 10 and I have just complete a render of a dvd that I created. After looking at the dvd I noticed that I made a spelling mistake and made the correction.

My question is do I need to go back and render the entire dvd over again for just one correction? The entire process of rendering takes about 4 hours to complete. Is there a way for it to quickly just overwite the over file with just the changes?

    thx,

The mpg for the DVD has to be one file, other than menu intros and previews. The main video need to be one piece so you will need to fix and render the whole thing. Unless someone else knows differently.

I would open the original project. Add an extra video layer and add the original MPEG2 file that was used for the DVD as the top layer.
From this original MPEG2 file, just cut out the part that needs to be changed. Make the repair in the original project layers and smart-render the whole project (ofcourse only the video since the audio ac3 file is still intact). Should be done very quickly without any loss.

I do a lot of weddings and find that having everything in 1 project was not only time consuming, but risky if the project developed a problem. I break my project into smaller sections such as the ceremony, photo shoot and reception, and then combine in DVDA and use playlists. If the client requests a change due to a typo, I only have to rerender the subproject and then recheck and relink in DVDA.

    Theo,

You are a genius!!! The instructions you gave worked perfectly!! The 4 hour video did a smart render in about 10 minutes. I have been looking for this ability for a long time. I have looked high and low in every document I could find to try and figure out how to make updates on a file already rendered.

Thanks you very much for the insite.
