  Flip Video Files Audio Only- No Video

  I imported files from a flip video which showed up as AVI files. When I import them into Vegas, they are only showing an audio track and no video track. I have two computers and have the problem on the other computer as well.

  I am using Windows Vista and Sony Pro 9.

  Any ideas?

  It is my impression from what I’ve read that the Flip does not work well with Vegas. This is why I bought a Kodak Zi8. Anyway…

  You should download a free utility called GSpot and open the AVI file with it and see what codec it uses. Then download that codec if GSpot says that it isn’t installed. I’m guessing it’s gonna be AVC/H.264 so you might want to install the x264vfw codec and see if that helps.
