Hi, I have a 2 hour 7 minute video edited in sony vegas pro 9, filmed in HDV.
Using DVD Arch 5.2 what render settings should I use to get the best quality on 1 DVD 4.7g.
Using Marks DVD Bitrate Calculator the recomended Bitrate is 4048.
Should I render the video in a different format to get the best quality.
    Thanks Grant

MPEG-2 for video and AC-3 for audio are the best formats you can render to.
Due to the length of your video, I highly recommend getting the VBR settings and doing this as a 2-pass render in Best mode.
It will take longer to render but the results will be worth it.

Thank you for your help Mike.
I did try rendering as MPEG 2 using the template “DVD Architect Pal Widescreen video stream” I didnt change the bitrate and the video ended up at 5.37 GB.
Should I change the bitrate and if so, what to?

Grant, you didn’t say but my guess is that DVDA is telling you that it’s 5.37 GB.
If I’m correct, ignore the warning as DVDA has a long history of incorrectly reporting file sizes.
I get it periodically and I’ve used Mark’s calculator for years so I know that my files are within the limits.
I ignore the warning, proceed to the next step and DVDA acts like noting happened.
As I said earlier though, to get the best picture quality, do it as a 2-pass VBR render.
    You will see the difference.
