  • Locking audio to video/event velocity changes

Hi, i was wondering if there was a way to have the audio correspond with the video in video envelopes/event velocity changes. I know about stretching/shrinking but thats not really what i want to do. Doing it manually (splitting the audio in blocks) its almost impossible for me for them to match after awhile. Any hints? Thanks for the help.

PS I searched and someone said SoundForge can do this (nonlinear/curved audio event velocity changes including reverse). Can someone explain more about this also? thanks.

There is no way I know of to slow down audio like a velocity envelope would in Vegas. Sound Forge has a Pitch Bend which allows you to lower the pitch over time but you would also have to slow it down gradually which it doesn’t do. I haven’t heard of “nonlinear/curved audio event velocity changes” in Sound Forge but I’d love to be proven wrong ‘cuz that would be great to have. You can use the free TapeStop VST plug-in just to simulate a slowdown to full stop.

I explain how to set up TapeStop in this thread:
