A few questions…How does SVPro 10 determine whether to use CPU or GPU? Does it do profiling of the system? I did not see an option within Vegas to run a speed test on my video card and CPU. I currently have an older Intel Q6600 and Nvidia 9600GT, and it appears that Vegas thinks my CPU is faster and uses that for AVC encodes.

I’d like to speed things up. What kind of speed can I expect with a newer GPU card while keeping my current CPU? Any chance to get faster than real-time, or should I just build a new system with Intel i7?

I would still like some advice on current cards and GPU rendering performance with Sony Vegas Pro 10. Thanks.
