finished video
I’m done with my video but I have alot of dead space at the end, How do I trim it up?

Drag the yellow triangles on top of the timeline to the beginning and end of what you want in the final video, and check “Render loop region only” in the bottom of the render window. Hope this helps, Danny Hays

Danny, I know how to highlite that section but I don’t know where you mean the render loop region only. Can’t you somehow delete that section?

That “dead space” is normal and assuming there are no events there, Vegas is smart enough to stop rendering when it runs out of events. There is nothing more you need to do. Danny’s suggestion should be used if you had more events off to the right but you didn’t want them to render. Normally you don’t need to do this.

When you render a video by “render as” and select a format to render too, there is a check box for “render loop region only” at the bottom left, but Like John says, if there are no audio or video events after where you want the end to be, Vegas will stop after the last event. Sometimes people get a small audio or video clip further down the timelilne and you might not see it. If your rendered file has a blank area after the desired end, you either have an event after the desired end or you have a loop region larger than the desired length and have the render loop region box checked. a quick way to make sure that there’s nothing at what you think is the end of your video is to hit the Go to End button (Ctrl+End).
If it stops at the end of your video, you’re OK.
If it goes a lot further, zoom in to see what’s there and delete it.
