  • Vegas Pro 10 bug – randomly changed 3D clips

Posted by Randy Elwin on November 17, 2010 at 7:00 pm

Using Vegas Pro 10 demo, 32-bit WinXP, HD1080-60i project with 3D anaglyphic.

Editing fine with 3D subclips, rendering MP4’s correctly.
Next day I started up my PC, opened the veg file and found a few clips changed, as if I selected “replace” from the project media panel. The veg file was unchanged. The backup veg file exhibits the same problem. The last set of renders were made after the veg file’s timestamp, and they have the correct clips, so I’m pretty sure I didn’t accidentally change the veg file before saving it the night before.

In looking at the clip’s media properties the Take Name is correct yet the filename has changed.

This looks related to random filename changes:

You can also contact the Company and make them aware of all these
    issues and kinks.

Out of curiosity I selected “view->media manager” and the pop up says “the media manager is not installed.”
I have Vegas 7 installed with media manager 2.2 before installing Pro 10.
