I’m going to make order into my miniDV tapes with DV SD footages.

I tried to use ScenalyzerLive (rel 2) because I like the way it makes it easy to keep the original file date and time (shooting date & time) and to name all the captured clips with a prefix + the same date & time.

It seems that Vegas doesn’t let me do the same with naming and doesn’t let me keep the original date & time. I know there is DVdate to do the smart renaming but the file creation date & time remains the capture time one.

So, “just go with ScenalyzerLive and don’t bother us any more!”

But… with ScL (set with DV Type 2) for some clips I’m getting an audio sampling rate of 0kHz and so the audio doesn’t playback.
Moreover, I’m getting different file length for the same clip captured with Vegas and with ScL. The number of video frames and audio samples is the same (Vdub “File information”).

Does anybody know if Vegas (9e or 10) could directly take care of what ScL normally does?

Or another app able to do what ScL does?

    Thanks.

I would contact the author of Scenalizer and try and figure out what’s going on with your audio. IMHO, Scenalizer Live is an exceptional capture tool and you’ll be hard pressed to find a better one. Just try and get it to work. The Sony tool will just capture with a tape name and sequential number.

    Thanks.

Do you know of any app that does a similar job with HDV tapes?

I mean: create a superfast index, rename while capturing and keep the shooting date & time?

Unfortunately, Mr. Winter won’t expand ScL to there.

    Thanks.

I believe HDVSplit is what a lot of people use for this.

    Thanks.

    And what about tape indexes?

Does anybody know if “DV quick scan” (Ulead/Corel video studio) would work as a stand alone too?

    Thanks
