  Optimal Desktop for HDV Editing

  I know this has probably been covered before but I am looking at picking up a desktop and looking to see what would be the best for editing HDV using Vegas Pro 10.0. I need to get it quickly so I am hoping to find an HP or Dell already constructed for quick ship. My budget is 1500-2000. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

  I would look at the HP Z800 line of workstations although you may have to go with the Z600 line with your budget. Make sure you get a QuadCore processor, an NVidia graphics card (not ATI) and at least two hard drives (although you can add a second one a lot cheaper yourself later). I would avoid Dell.
