    Hey,

Recently i have been wanting to improve my editing skills for my Youtube videos. And i have come across some things that completely comfuse me as to how they are done.

For those of you that are into gaming, particulary Call of Duty, you will know that there is an absolutely huge fanbase for videos of high quality on that subject. And you may have come across a “Funtage” called Super Noobs.

There are some amazing things that the editor does that i just cannot get my head round.
Here is a link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1h9YAyjDLM
If you skip to 5 Minutes 32 Seconds, a call of duty character runs across the screen and detonates a grenade. If someone could help me on how he would do this i would be very grateful because to me it seams really difficult to cut out such a detailed object thats moving.

I recognise that this is quite a small part of all the Sony Vegas uses. But any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Cammi

You can film such a character in front of a greenscreen and then chroma-key the backgound out in Vegas.

The explosion can easily be made in Particle Illusion, although you cab also buy footage of explosions, e.g. at VideoCopilot

Yes but how would i film that from in game. Because im pretty sure there arent any green screens in any of the call of duty maps haha.

That is such low quality are you sure that’s even a character from the game? The explosion looked like particleIllusion or any stock video explosion.

Are there any snow scenes in COD? Capture a character running across the white snow and then key out the snow in Vegas.
