When the cursor pass trough an audio event with the PitchShift plugin… CRASH!”I cannot recreate this. I have no problems with adding Pitch Shift to audio events. The error 0xC0000005 is an illegal “memory access violation”. This can be caused by anything from a bad stick of RAM to a bad audio device driver, or even Vegas Pro itself. I would report the problem to Sony. Vegas Pro 10 was a major rewrite and you may be hitting a bug somewhere. Only Sony can debug their error dumps.

October 28, 2010 at 5:34 amThanks for your answer and attention John,
I think the best way is wait for the first and second update to be stable.
Now in my notebook vegas (versions 9 and 10) crash in Render As mpeg, and crash when try to render MP3 files too…
Maybe should I format and install all machine again?
I notice this problem after I installed the Adobe LightRoom 3.0Márcio Nascimento

October 28, 2010 at 10:34 amI think you may be right with formating and starting over. You should not be crashing when rendering MEPG or MP3. Something is seriously wrong there ‘cuz most my work eventually gets rendered to MPEG2 and I have no crashing at all.

October 28, 2010 at 3:48 pmReady… formated.
Do you know the best order to install the other computer softwares and Sony softwares? Have some difference between install Sony softwares before or after the others softwares?
From Sony I have Sound forge, dvd archtect and vegas Pro.
From Adobe I have Photoshop Elements and Adobe Lightroom.
I have a Canon T2i, that record in AVCHD MOV h.264
In past system, before perform the format, I´ve installed quicktime plugin to edit MOV files in vegas pro 9. Do you know if I need install again now with vegas pro 10? Or just rename the *.mov to *.mp4?
Any tip? Thanks a lot! (sorry for any wrongs in my english, I speak portuguese)Márcio Nascimento

October 29, 2010 at 2:32 amWhat I have found in the world of software installation is that the last guy in usually wins. I would install the Sony Software last so that other software can’t mess it up. Quicktime is needed if you plan to use MOV files because MOV files are Quicktime format. If you don’t like Quicktime, don’t use MOV files or buy cameras that use MOV files.

October 29, 2010 at 7:47 amYeah I doubt it’s your hardware. I’m running 10 on 2 Win7 64bit systems that both run 9 perfectly and it crashes CONSTANTLY! Doesn’t really matter what I do – just playing it locks up – doing a little color correction LOCK UP! It has worked fine for a couple of hours here and there but not trustworthy yet.
Hopefully Sony will get an update out soon…

October 29, 2010 at 6:51 pmHi John, I discovered that my HP recovery already come with Quicktime installed.
I’ve used the Wise Registry Clean and Wise Disk Clean to optimize.
I’ve installed Lightroom before Vegas Pro.
So the system is perfect now. Thanks for your help!

October 29, 2010 at 7:14 pmYou’re welcome. Don’t forget to take a full backup now that you have it the way you like it. I use Acronis TrueImage but you can use any backup software that you have. This way next time you are only a restore away from having a working machine again.
I also take daily incremental backs and store 3 months worth so I can restore back to any day in a 3 month period if I realize that something is not working that worked a week or two ago.

October 30, 2010 at 4:20 amWOW, nice tip John!
Thanks Again!Do you know if Sony HXR-NX5 Camcorder files works well in Vegas Pro 10?
I will buy this camera next month. I think that a “Sony System” from microphone and camera to software is the best way for a good compatibility. Am I wrong?Márcio Nascimento
