This will hopefully help those of you with problems.

    1) Neo 5.x, all versions. Vegas 10 doesn’t offer and configuration control, but it is using the SDK. The developers at Sony just run out of time. Output is currently hardwired to 4:2:2, Filmscan2 — lots of quality, but no 444 or 4444 and no lower data rates. Hoping it will be addressed the next point release.

    2) NeoScene requires an update to support encoding. The beta 5.2 has just be patched for this, download here

P.S. Play speed should be nice and smooth, has been in my testing on 2D and 3D sources.

Cineform Neoscene works perfectly in my Sony Vegas Pro 10 projects. I use neoscene to capture avchd files (mts).
Only problem I had was when choosing the function ‘save as’ and clicking ‘copy source files’, and ‘trimmed source files’. The latter crashed svp10. But choosing the function without clickin ‘trimmed source files’ generates no errors, but takes a lot more time to save of course due to the big neoscene avi file size.
I guess the error is due to the fact that svp10 handlse neoscene avi files differently than regular avi files.
My version of Neoscene is only about a week old, purchased online, so I might possibly have the latest version.

Thank you Mike and David for the Neoscene 5.2 beta.

It does indeed work with vegas 10.

However, the Neoscene seems to reset the beginning timecodes on the clips to zero on the avchd files that I get from Sony NXCAM.

I have waited for 6 months for Vegas 10, so that I automatically sync multicam shoots using the layout tracks by timecode feature of Vegas. And I can, if I use the AVCHD clips as they are.

But if I convert them first using the cineform codec in Neoscene so render times are reasonable, the timecodes all start at zero, therefore meaning the vegas layout tracks by timecode won’t work.

David, Is there something I am doing wrong? Or is it something you could change before the 5.2 beta is released?

Mike, Can you pass this on to David if he is not on this post?

    Thank You.

John, I’ve never seen any Cineform folks on here nor does the Cow have a forum for it so my suggestion is to go to the support section of their site for help.
My uneducated guess though is that, by re-encoding the video, you’ve stripped out the timecode information.
The same thing happens if you take a plain old minDV clip and re-render it without changing anything.
The source timecode disappears and there’s nothing you can do about it 🙁

    Thanks Mike,

Since he gave you the beta version, I thought maybe you had the inside track with cineform.

I will reach out to their tech support.

John, he didn’t give me the beta version.
I got the info from a post he made on the Sony Vegas forum.
