Rendering for tv
Hey,
I’m making a video for my company to use at a tradeshow, I was already a bit familiar with sony vegas so I decided to use it to produce the small clip. I had a question about the dimensions and rendering. We are going to have it on a 42″ screen so we want the quality to be decent. I set the rendering mode to hd 720 and put the quality on best. Hit render and went home for the night. I came in this morning thinking it would be done, but it was still set to take another 15 hours (its only 3 1/2 minutes long).
What are some good rendering techniques that won’t take 30 hours to render and still produce a good image on a 42″ screen?

NO no….3 and a half minutes shouldnt take so long…unless its being rendered on a Dinosaur computer.
Simple set the render mode to good and make sure no other footage
is lingering on the timeline beyond where your editing stopped.Steve Rhoden

So I have been playing around with the rendering setting and now I am really frustrated. I got to a point where I was rendering a 1280×720 file and it was going to take 2 hours. I can deal with that, I know its going to take some time to get a good quality video. However, for some unknown reason, the text in my video drops about an inch. It looks fine in the preview so I don’t understand.
What have I done.

It sounds like you are editing in different dimensions than you are rendering.
What format is your source footage?
What are your project settings?
How will you deliver it to a 42″ screen?
