Converting VEG files to VF files
Posted by Natan Katzman on October 2, 2010 at 6:36 pmI’ve been using a very old version of Vegas Video (3.0) and am considering buying Movie Studio HD. Is there a way to convert my VEG files to VF files? Or is there a way to import or open VEG files with Movie Studio?

October 2, 2010 at 11:05 pmI was aware of that. Thanks.
My question is whether there is a utility that will convert VEG to VF so that I then can open the new, converted VF file. -

October 2, 2010 at 11:47 pmOpen up the Vegas 3 project.
Start a new instance of Movie Studio.
In Vegas 3, select all and copy.
Switch to Movie Studio, paste and save under a new name. -

October 3, 2010 at 12:19 amHalf of that works. I Select All and Copy from Vegas 3; but when I open Movie Studio and start a new project there is no Paste option – neither the icon, the menu or Control C.
It seems to need one more step in Movie Studio.

October 3, 2010 at 1:59 amTry doing a Ctrl A and then a Ctrl C in Vegas followed by Ctrl V in Movie Studio.

October 3, 2010 at 5:20 amThat does not work. Select and Copy (or Ctl-A and Ctl-C) work fine within Vegas 3 and I can then Paste (or Ctl-V) into the Vegas 3. But with the copied material still in memory Movie Studio does not accept any form of Paste command (Ctl-V, icon, or Edit menu). Are you able to do this? If so, what is the configuration of Movie Studio that allows Paste to happen?

October 3, 2010 at 3:09 pmNatan, I have no idea why this doesn’t work.
I’ve only used Pro, never Movie Studio so I can’t even test it out for you. -

October 3, 2010 at 3:43 pmThanks for trying, Mike. I’ll use a clumsy workaround (render fragments of the Vegas 3 work to AVI and import to Movie Studio) or ditch Movie Studio.
I Appreciate your help.
