Rendering problem recently cropped up…
I used to be able to render video just fine in Vegas until just recently, when my videos would start coming out with no sound. I examined the settings and found this out:
This is a default template for HD WMV @ 30 fps. Note the audio settings. 192 kbps, 48 kHz.
This is what happens if I change the audio settings and apply:
Notice it has changed to 1,536 kbps and 48 KHz. This happens no matter what setting I choose: if it’s 48 KHz, it becomes 1,536 kbps, if it’s 44.1 KHz, it becomes 1,411 kbps. Rendering with any custom setting produces a video with no sound, unless the audio is set to lossless. This happens with ANY VIDEO FORMAT, meaning I’m restricted mainly to preset templates. I dislike the default templates; is there any way to fix this mess? What went wrong?

What are you changing it to, I haven’t seen a sound card that didn’t support 48k and 44.1k. Try taking one of the rendered videos that has no audio and drop it on the timeline and see if there’s a waveform. Are you changing it to a sample rate your sound card doesn’t support? Give us more details on what your changing the audio render settings to. Danny Hays
