Scrolling text jagged
Posted by Roger Bansemer on September 7, 2010 at 4:59 pmI just made a DVD with architect and I had some scrolling text. Viewing the scrolling text on my TV it appears to jagged and not smooth at all. Very irritating for anyone watching it.
Does this have something to do with fields or interlacing?

September 7, 2010 at 5:52 pmRoger, if you used the Credit Roll feature in Vegas, I can almost guarantee that’s your problem as it always has been and always will be a POS 🙁
Try a trick that I learned a long time ago and that is to use the standard titler but trick it into doing a roll for you.
Rather than get into a detailed explanation, I’ve attached a veg file (done in Pro 8) that should help explain things.
The areas to pay attention to are the frame size, font size, length and placement settings. -

September 7, 2010 at 6:01 pmGot it. Thanks for taking the time to show me. It’s a really good trick to know. Nothing worse than working for a long time on a piece and having something like a credit roll ruin the entire video.
Thanks very much.

September 7, 2010 at 6:03 pmMy pleasure.
I often find that a quick veg file saves me several minutes of typing and gets the point across much better at the same time. -

Rogerps. I thought maybe POS was some technical term but I got that figured out too.

September 7, 2010 at 6:10 pmRoger, I don’t know where your mind was but POS (Piece Of Software) is a highly technical term.
Yeah, right 🙂
