Transparency
Ok, ive been working with adobe after effects for a while, so i decided to create some fun videos, with an animated cartoon character which as put up from different pictures. So i made it, animated it, and didn’t set any background couse i wanted it to be transparent, so i dont have to key it out and ruin the quality, but when it was done, it wasnt transparent it had a black background! I checked all programs and it had a black background! I cant risk keying it out couse i have a lot of black features in the cartoon!
So here is my qestion, how to render my animation with no background (transparent) background :)? -

You have to render it with a codec that supports the ALPHA CHANNEL.
As you are talking about cartoon I would suggest to use quicktime animation and check the RGB+ALPHA on the render settings.
To know more about alpha channels and stuff like that check some tutorial here on the cow as well as the help file on AE.

since your gonna use animation, which is a relatively older codec, remember to set project settings match legacy quicktime gamma so you don’t write a 2.2 gamma flag in the animation and it gets too bright on renders and playback.
