    Hello all

I am having a prob that has vexed me and caused me many hours of pain in Vegas. I finally decided to post about it.

Let’s say I have two video tracks, one with video, then the one above it for still images. What do I need to set so whenever an image appears it TOTALLY blocks out the video? As it stands, the image only blocks out the part of the screen where it is displaying, while allowing areas around it to expose the video from the track below it. I need it so it blocks out all the video and in the areas around it the screen is simply black

    PLEASE HELP

There are various simple solutions for this problem. You could add an extra videotrack between the track with the video and the track with the pictures and drag a black solid media generator at this new track below the pictures.
Or you could keyframe the visibility of the videotrack. (This last thing has become very easy in Vegas 9 pro: just add a video envelop for composite level to the track with the video, make a selection of the part you want to make invisible and drag the envelope down to zero %. No need to make first four points on the envelope).
Another option is to make the pictures the same size as your video.

Be sure to click “match output aspect” on the pictures (inside pan/crop window.)
