Problem rendering MPEG-2
I am rendering a 2 hour long hd-video, using sony vegas pro 8.0.
File: mpeg2
template: DVD Architect PAL Widescreen video stream
(it takes 5 hours to render)I tried this settings 4 times and the result have given me these problems:
*The last 5 minuts of the video was gone (happend once)
* about 1 minute of the video turned black the second time i rendered
* the last 3 minutes of the video turned black...so there are different problems for every time i render.
Have anyone a clue of what this problem is? and how this can be solved?

What format are your source files? (and what codec do they use?) It sounds like Vegas Pro 8.0 is having a problem decoding them properly.

AVCHD was pretty new when Vegas Pro 8.0 came out and so it does not handle AVCHD as well as Vegas Pro 9.0 does. What you might want to do is download the latest version of Vegas pro 9.0e and see if the file renders correctly. If it does, then you need to decide if that’s worth upgrading. If you are going to use the latest video codecs you need to keep your video software updated to cope with them.

I’ve just downloaded the vegas pro 9.0 and will try rendering there.
But can i open my vegas 8.0 project in vegas 9.0 ? How?Thanks.

You do it the same way as with Pro 8.
Start up Pro 9, browse to the folder where the veg file is and open it from there. -
Warning – If you save your project in Vegas 9, you can’t open it again in Vegas 8. Do a save-as to a new name if you want to keep your V8 veg file.
(BTW – You don’t render MPEG, you encode it. Notwithstanding that it’s in the “render as” menu.)
