Text Tool Defaults
Posted by Roger Bansemer on August 11, 2010 at 3:42 amIs there a way to set the text tool to a default other than what it is. I’d like to change the outline default to black instead of yellow and the RBG to 216 instead of 235.

Not the default but you can save the settings the way you like as a named preset. Then drag and drop the preset you want from the docked Media Generator window when adding to the timeline.

August 11, 2010 at 12:35 pmThere is no way to apply a preset onto existing text though is there so the letters themselves aren’t replaced. I was hoping to change the attributes and not the content similar to what copy and paste attributes does on a clip.

August 11, 2010 at 1:02 pmSorry Roger but what you want is a feature that a lot of of us have begged Sony to implement for a long time now and we’re still waiting 🙁

August 11, 2010 at 3:34 pmYea, I would have to agree that this is a features I’ve wanted for a long, long time. You really have to carefully plan your text before hand with Vegas because there is no easy way to make massive changes.
